Are you asking yourself if this is an investment worth making for you?

I have good news for you!

As our loved ones age and need a little help with their daily life, we may worry about them if they live alone. At this point it may not be practical for them to live in their own traditional home, but what happens if they are not ready for assisted living or old folks home? This is when a mobile home in a 55+ community can be a perfect solution for older people.

This is Mark Kaiser with The Mobile Home Dealer and I will help answer those questions for you right now!

Buying a mobile home that is within an age-qualified community is a very popular option for affordable housing in Sarasota Florida.

Before we go any further, we need to identify what is an age-qualified community.

Each of these communities will have its own rules to adhere to, but generally speaking, when referring to a community as age-qualified, we are referencing a mobile home park that requires one or both residents to be of a certain age to be approved for park residency.

The age requirement is usually one or both residents who reside in the home need to be at least 55 years, YOUNG!

Age-qualified parks do not allow full-time residents of the home to be children but do allow them as visitors for up to several weeks at a time. Some parks require only one resident to be of the qualifying age, with the other resident usually required to be five to 10 years younger.

There are several benefits to living in an age-qualified community.

55+ community

One benefit is that the residents you are living around are your same age, many times sharing some of the same interests that you have. This opens up the community to have several different social events planned regularly!

We, at The Mobile Home Dealer, work in these types of communities every day of the week and the amount of community interaction we see is unbelievable!

From physical group activities such as swimming, golfing, and shuffleboarding to social events such as community dances, pitch-ins, and a seemingly endless list of clubs to join, there is never a dull moment when calling one of these communities home.

There is so much to do that I have been told by several residents who love living in these communities that “You are only bored if you choose to be.”

Many of these communities are where the homeowners own their homes but lease the land each month through a payment called lot rent.

A rule of thumb here; the higher the lot rent, the more activities, and amenities are usually readily available inside that community.

Average lot rent in Sarasota for these types of parks ranges from the low 600s to just over $1,000 a month. Home prices in these parts vary quite a bit as well. From $10,000 to $15,000 fixer-uppers to brand new, top-of-the-line homes, in the six figures. There is surely a home and a price point for all of those looking to enjoy their time in these types of communities.

Now, when the time comes when you may want to sell your home, these homes will sell fast so long as you are listing your home with a well-respected mobile home brokerage firm that has experience selling homes in these types of parks.

Seniors can have peace of mind

Living in a mobile home does not involve giving up anything. In a mobile home, you can have all the comforts you would have in a traditional home. The kitchen can be perfectly equipped, the rooms can host one or two beds without problems, the toilets have a shower and mirror screen, and the lounge with air conditioning.

In addition, the mobile home allows all types of decoration, from dining tables with chairs to sofa corner or center tables for a quiet peck. The house can have a television and other devices so that you will not miss anything to enjoy your life in an adult stage on the site you choose and for much less money than a conventional home costs.

Mobile homes for seniors are ideal for independence

Sometimes, when we get older, we realize that we can no longer do the same things that we did before and we need more help to carry out certain types of activities. It is a reality that the elderly do best with social activities, this is the reason why many mobile home parks are designed to cater to older folks.

Mobile homes are ideal for those who want to have their independence but at the same time have all the assistance that could be offered in a residential center for the elderly.

Buying a home in a 55+ community in Sarasota can be a great idea for retirees or older adults looking to downsize. Many of these communities offer a wide range of amenities, such as swimming pools, tennis courts, private parks, and golf courses. Additionally, living in a 55+ community can provide residents with greater security, since they are often gated and monitored by the homeowners’ association. Furthermore, many of these communities feature social clubs and activities, providing older adults with the opportunity to meet others with similar interests. Finally, living in a 55+ community can provide great convenience and access to necessary services, such as medical care and grocery stores. All of these factors make a Sarasota home in a 55+ community an attractive option for retirees or older adults looking to downsize.
